The Storywalk® is a collaboration with Scott County Public Library and Georgetown-Scott County Parks and Recreation. Funded by the Friends of the Scott County Public Library, this is an interactive reading experience for both children and adults. Follow the posts on this path and read a story together while enjoying your park!
The Storywalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
There are few things better than spending time outside on a sunny spring day, but we’ve thought of something to make it even more fun! With the help of the Friends of the Scott County Public Library and Georgetown-Scott County Parks and Recreation, we are combining our love of reading with a love of the outdoors, to bring you the Storywalk®!
The Storywalk® is an interactive reading experience for both children and adults that encourages literacy, creativity, and getting active outside! Along a walking trail you will find posts containing the pages of a storybook. Follow the posts in order to experience the entire story. Each post will contain an interactive prompt to inspire either thought or motion!
The Storywalk’s® permanent home will be Charles Brooking Park here in Georgetown. Mark your calendars because we will be having a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, May 13th at 3 pm to celebrate all the hard work and collaboration that has gone into this new addition to the park! Then be sure to come back often to read a new story! 1260 Scott County Park Rd, Georgetown, KY 40324.
