Curated exhibits featured in the Gallery are family-friendly, easily accessible, open to the public during regular library hours and are free of charge
Book Discussion Kits

At the Scott County Public Library, we believe that reading is not just an individual journey, but a shared experience that brings communities together. Our Book Discussion Kits are thoughtfully designed to foster collaboration and enrich the literary experience for groups of all sizes. Each kit includes 15 copies of a selected book, along with a comprehensive discussion guide that provides insights and prompts to facilitate meaningful conversations.

Digital Archives
Scott County Public Library's Kentucky Room offers researchers an excellent combination of resources unique to Scott County, Kentucky and its people. Today's technology has made researching easier and more efficient than it has ever been. Our digital collection is an ongoing project. As new items are digitized, they are added to the Community Digital Archives and Oral Histories collection.

Experience Kits
At the Scott County Public Library, we believe in the power of creativity and togetherness! Our experience kits are thoughtfully crafted to foster family engagement and spark individual creativity. Whether you're looking to spend quality time with loved ones or embark on a solo adventure, our diverse selection of kits has something for everyone. The Experience Kits are now located at the Marketplace next to the circulation desk.Experience Pass
Your library card is now your ticket to adventure! With our new Experience Passes, you can enjoy free admission to local attractions and museums just by checking one out from the library. Each Experience Pass includes information about the attraction along with at least one related book to enhance your experience. The passes are kept behind the Circulation Desk, so simply ask when you’re ready to check one out. Checkout periods vary from one to two weeks. It can be placed on hold and one Experience Pass per family.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Scott County Public Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the work of the library. Since 1975, the Friends have raised funds and volunteered their time to support library programs, Summer Reading, special equipment and furnishings, scholarships, the Celebrate with Books program, StoryWalk®, and more. Through the Friends Book Store, special sales, fundraising, and community partnerships, the Friends help make a lasting difference at the library and throughout our community.
InterLibrary Loan
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service at Scott County Public Library is designed to enhance your reading experience by providing access to a vast array of materials from libraries beyond our own. This collaborative service empowers our patrons to explore titles that may not be available in our collection, ensuring that your diverse reading needs are met. Whether you are searching for a specific book, a rare title, or simply wish to broaden your literary horizons, our ILL service is here to support your lifelong learning journey.
Kentucky Room
The Kentucky Room at the Scott County Public Library is a treasure trove for anyone interested in local history and genealogical research. Makerspace
This innovative space invites patrons of all ages to explore, design, and create using hands-on tools and technology. To start, the Makerspace will offer services such as 3D Printing, Button Making, Cricut Vinyl Cutting, and Book Mending, giving our community a wide range of ways to bring their creativity to life. As we continue to grow the space, additional stations and opportunities will be added in the coming months. Whether you're fixing a well-loved book or trying something completely new, the Makerspace is your place to learn, create, and be inspired.
Marketplace
Modeled after the feel of a local marketplace, this display encourages visitors to casually explore books the same way they might browse different booths or stalls, stopping where something catches their eye. Instead of searching shelf by shelf, readers can quickly scan a variety of titles, genres, and authors all in one place. The Marketplace display is refreshed monthly, giving patrons a chance to discover staff picks, trending reads, seasonal favorites, and hidden gems they might not have otherwise noticed.
Meeting Rooms
We invite our community to take advantage of our meeting room facilities for their events and programming. Whether you're planning a workshop, a discussion group, or a community gathering, our library is here to support your efforts in making meaningful connections and promoting lifelong learning.
Recording Studio
The Recording Studio provides Scott County Public Library patrons access to audio and video recording equipment and software. A library card, completion of a Recording Studio orientation class, and a signed use agreement are required to use the Recording Studio.
