We hope everyone had a happy holidays with plenty of delicious food and good cheer! Holidays often spark the desire to give to those in need, and food pantries traditionally receive many donations during the holiday season. However, donations can slow during the rest of the year. That is why the Scott County Public Library has, for many years, sponsored a canned food drive every February for the AMEN House. This year, our event is called “Helping Hands Food Drive Challenge” and we are partnering with the Georgetown Fire Department to have a friendly food drive competition. The organization that collects the most canned food between Feb. 1st and Feb. 28th will be deemed the winner. The losing organization must produce a post for the winning organization’s Facebook page. Singing and dancing are to be part of the deal!
Please join us in this friendly competition by dropping off unexpired, undamaged canned goods and peanut butter (no glass jars) to the locations listed below.
TEAM LIBRARY: Scott County Public Library @ 104 South Bradford Lane between the hours of 9 am – 7 pm, Monday through Saturday
TEAM GEORGETOWN FIRE: Georgetown Fire Department @ Fire House #3 101 Airport Road between the hours of 10 am – 7 pm
