The world’s oldest known library was founded sometime in the 7th century B.C. in modern day Iraq, and here we are, thousands of years later in Scott County, Kentucky. Clearly libraries are not going anywhere. But that doesn’t mean that they haven’t changed dramatically. Libraries have transformed to places with just books to community hubs where patrons can find valuable resources and services. As we like to say here at SCPL, the library is a place to learn, grow, gather and grow! Still, despite all these great changes, the world is moving faster than ever, and we know that our patrons need convenience for their busy lives. Which is why we are ecstatic to announce that the Scott County Public Library now has an app!
With our new app, myLIBRO, patrons can search the catalog, reserve books, see upcoming programs via our social media channels, renew books, download and play audiobooks on Overdrive, and so much more!
We understand that you can’t always make the time to scour the shelves, but now our collection is at your fingertips! Even better, you can find books by what genre interests you! Romance, history, fantasy, self-improvement, thriller and more! Once you find something that piques your interest, simply tap the “Hold” button and we’ll have it ready for you when you arrive to the library.
The myLIBRO app is available for both Apple and Android. If you would like an in depth tutorial of how to download and use the app, our Marketing Department has put together a handy guide that you can find here. Or pick up a hard copy next time you visit the library.
The world seems to move so fast these days, here at SCPL we are glad to be able to serve our patrons in the most convenient way possible. We hope you enjoy the app as much as we do! See you at the library!
