[October 11, 2023]SCOTT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY HOSTED GRAND OPENING RECEPTION FOR AMERICANS AND THE HOLOCAUST TRAVELING EXHIBITION
Scott County Public Library hosted an opening reception for Americans and the Holocaust, a traveling exhibition from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum that examines the motives, pressures and fears that shaped Americans’ responses to Nazism, war and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. Scott County Public Library was selected as one of 50 U.S. libraries to present the touring version of the Americans and the Holocaust special 1,100 square foot exhibition, which opened in April 2018 at the Museum in Washington, D.C., during the Museum’s 25th anniversary. The library’s opening reception was Thursday, November 9th at 5:30 pm and featured remarks by Alice Goldstein, a Holocaust survivor and a special opportunity to tour the exhibition.
Americans and the Holocaust will be displayed at Scott County Public Library, along with a series of related special events, from 11/9 to 1/4. Admission is free.
