Join the Scott County Public Library in recognizing International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27. The United Nations General Assembly designated this date as the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and to honor victims of the Holocaust.

Library patrons may join us for a special poetry reading presented by Scott County Public Library Assistant, Stephanie. She will be commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day in a recording which will be featured on the SCPL Facebook and YouTube page. Stephanie shares, “Poetry’s power to move, to remember, and to instruct is never more evident than when it focuses on events that transcend worlds. Take a moment and listen to the words commemorating one of the most heartbreaking moments in human history on this day.”
