Most materials are loaned for three weeks and may be renewed twice. However, special rules and restrictions may apply to certain items. Please check the Circulation Policy chart below for more information, or ask any of our Circulation Staff who are available by phone or in person to answer your questions.

• A blood pressure monitor station is available for use in the Quiet Study Room, located next to the Kentucky Room.

• Additionally, two portable blood pressure monitor kits are available for checkout in the Experience Kits area, near Teen Services.

These resources are designed to help you track and manage your blood pressure from the comfort of home or at the library. Regular monitoring is a simple, effective step toward staying informed and staying healthy.

Curbside Pick-Up Service at the Scott County Public Library!

We are excited to offer our Curbside Pick-Up Service at the Scott County Public Library! In our commitment to providing safe access to library materials for everyone, we are offering a convenient curbside pick-up option at the library. If you prefer not to enter the building, simply call us at 502-863-3566 to schedule a pick-up at the library from the Marshall Park Drive entrance. You can place items on hold through our online catalog or by calling the library directly. Once your requested items are ready, we will give you a call. You can then choose to pick them up inside the building or schedule a pick-up time and date.

Let us assist you in keeping your mind active with our wide variety of library materials available for reading, listening, and viewing.

The Scott County Public Library Provides Free Notary Service.

We kindly request that individuals seeking notary services at the Scott County Public Library adhere to the following guidelines for a smooth and efficient process.

• Please note that there will be no notary performed within 30 minutes of the library closing time.
• Ensure that your documents are completed before arriving, but refrain from signing them until in the presence of the notary.
• Please be advised that the library does not offer witness services, and patrons using the library may not be solicited as witnesses. Any witness must have a personal relationship with the signer prior to the notarization.
• To proceed with the notarization, all signers and witnesses are required to present valid photo identification. The following types of photo ID are acceptable if they are not expired:
  • Valid driver’s license or identification card issued by a U.S. state United States passport
  • Other U.S. government-issued identification card that includes a picture and the signature of the person.
• All signers must be present at the time of the notarization.

*Please call the library to verify a staff member is available for notary services before arriving.

Notary Policy

Faxing at the Scott County Public Library.

Faxing services are available at the Technology Hub.   Send the first 5 pages with a cover sheet absolutely free, with a minimal charge of $0.25 per page thereafter.

*So that there is sufficient time for transmission and receipt of confirmation notices, faxed documents larger than ten pages must be sent at least 15 minutes prior to library closing.

The Scott County Public Library Offers Bookmobile Service All Year Round.

The Scott County Public Library offers a convenient way to access our collection of books and materials through our new bookmobile service. The bookmobile travels throughout Scott County on regular schedule, providing a wide variety of materials available for checkout. Not only can patrons borrow books, but they can also apply for library cards right on the bookmobile. This service is designed to make the library more accessible to those who may face challenges in visiting us in person, whether it be due to transportation limitations or other reasons. We are thrilled to bring the joy of reading and learning directly to our community through the Scott County Public Library bookmobile.

3D Printing at the Scott County Public Library.

• Printing is available on a first come, first served basis and is done by Library staff.
• Priority printing is given to Library programs and events.
• Persons wanting to print should bring their file on a USB flash drive to the Library during open hours. Staff will add the model to the printing queue.
• File must be submitted in. STL format.  Object must be smaller than 10″ x 10″ x 10″
• Due to the popularity of the printer, we can only print items that require less than 6 hours printing time.
• Only one print request at a time will be accepted. (Print job must be picked up before submitting another print request.)
• Patrons will be notified by email or phone when print job is finished. All files will be deleted at that time. The Library recognizes that an original design is the property of the designer and designs will not be duplicated for others.
• Items printed from Library 3D printers that are not picked up within 7 days will become property of the Library. Items must be picked up by the individual who printed them.

The Library’s 3D printers may be used for lawful purposes only. The public will not be permitted to use the Library’s 3D printers to create material that are:

Prohibited by local, state or federal law.

Unsafe, harmful, dangerous or poses an immediate threat to the well-being of others. (Such use may violate the terms of use of the manufacturer.)

Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the Library environment.

In violation of another’s intellectual property rights. For example, the printers will not be used to reproduce material that is subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.

The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.

Copying and Scanning at the Scott County Public Library.
The Scott County Public Library offers a range of copying services at the Technology Hub area. You can make black/white and color copies using the copier available.

The charges for copies are as follows:
Single-side, black and white — $0.10
Double-side, black and white — $0.20
Single-side, color — $0.25
Double-side, color — $0.50
Scans documents to email — Free service

Computers are Available to use at the Scott County Public Library.

Step into the Technology Hub at the library and take advantage of the PC-based computers available for patrons. Whether you're looking to kickstart a new project, catch up on emails, or simply surf the web, our state-of-the-art computers provide the perfect platform for all your computing needs.

• The library has 21+ computers in the Technology Hub area for patrons to use.
• To use the computers, guest passes will be issued to out-of-town patrons with a valid drivers license for one time use.
• There is no charge to use the computers.
• The computers have the following programs installed: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Access), GIMP, Adobe PDF Reader, and common Internet browsers. Installation of software or changes to the configuration of the computers is prohibited.
• Patrons can print from the computers. They can print documents they created on the computer or documents they access via their email or removable storage. Printing costs 10 cents for black and white copies and 25 cents for color per page. Copies over $5 may be paid for with a credit card. Copies under $5 must be paid for with change or "$1 or $5 bills" (not larger)

The charges for laminating are as follows:
Business card pouch – $0.50
8×10 pouch – $1.00
Large jobs – $2.00 per square foot

Can I laminate my Social Security card? Do not laminate your card. Lamination prevents detection of many security features. You may cover the card with plastic or other removable materials if it does not damage the card.
