About the artist

Mary-and-friends

A collection of textile art from some of the SCPL Friends and Staff

In December, the Scott County Public Library shared an art exhibit, “Home Made: a Stitched Art Show,” at the library’s Art Gallery. Friends of the Scott County Public Library President, Mary Fogos, long-time members Sharon Bedwell and June Helligrath, and SCPL’s Adult Services Manager, Melissa Gibson, displayed their spectacular collections of cross-stitching and needlepoint.

Upcoming Gallery Showing

School Daze: Installation 1
Friday, January 24th from 5pm-6:30pm
Parents, friends and families, come celebrate your young artists from Georgetown Middle, Royal Spring and Scott County Middle Schools. This display will be the first of three installations. Keep an eye out for our shows in March and May! Live music and light refreshments will be served. Come enjoy our young local talent. See ya at the Library!

The Art Gallery located inside the Scott County Public Library is a unique space that provides opportunities to enhance the community’s appreciation of the arts. Curated exhibits featured in the Gallery are family-friendly, easily accessible, open to the public during regular library hours and are free of charge.

The Gallery Curator plans and facilitates two types of exhibits. Solo shows present a large body of work from one artist; while potpourri shows feature the work of a group of artists, each of whom have more limited bodies of work or experience.
